Bringing a parent on Umrah is one of the most common requests we receive, and the arrangements matter more than the itinerary.

Choose distance over stars. A four-star hotel 200 metres from the Haram will serve your parents better than a five-star at a kilometre.

Wheelchairs. Available free at several gates, and paid pushers can be arranged in advance. Tawaf on the first floor is calmer and the circuit is longer.

Medication. Carry a signed letter listing prescriptions, and keep everything in the original packaging.

Pace. Two prayers at the Haram each day is a full programme for most elderly pilgrims. Plan rest as deliberately as worship.
